Emergency Medicine Research
OUDEM faculty are particularly interested in having medical students participate in research projects. Students may either join one of the dozens of ongoing projects, or come with an idea and find a mentor to facilitate moving forward with their own study. In the brief time OUDEM has been in existence, roughly a dozen OU medical students have been supported to present EM research at prehospital and acute-care meetings nationwide. This experience provides students valuable education while simultaneously improving their positioning for the competitive EM match. Students interested in pursuing research with OUDEM (regardless of whether they are rotating with the department) should contact the OUDEM Research Director, Annette Arthur PharmD.
