Residency Support
The widespread connections of the OUDEM faculty afford EM residents opportunity to participate in regional, national, and international clinical, research, and educational conferences. Residents presenting at national and international meetings are provided financial support and assistance with scheduling, to enable their participation.
Residents' dues are paid for SAEM, EMRA, and ACEP.
Residents in the program are given full privileges to the McGraw-Hill on-line product AccessEM, for which OUDEM faculty are co-editors, and which serves as a virtual traveling library. Residents have generous space at the base hospital HMC, with each class having their own large office with computers.
Perhaps most importantly, the faculty serve as support for the residents. Each resident is assigned a faculty mentor, but the faculty as a whole are privileged to share responsibility for preparing our residents for myriad career pathways in clinical, academic, or hybrid settings.
